About the Music City Tennis Invitational
The Music City Tennis Invitational is the longest-running music-related charity tennis tournament in the country. The nonprofit organization is sustained through its committed volunteers and support from entertainment industry and businesses across the country. MCTI was established in 1973 by music publisher Wesley Rose of Acuff Rose Music, Helen Farmer of the American Cancer Society, and leaders in the music industry and business community. Their vision was to promote camaraderie among tennis enthusiasts while raising funds for charity. MCTI's honors include the USTA 2008 Southern Charity Tennis Event of the Year as well as the USTA 2008 Charity Tennis Event of the Year. To date, MCTI has donated more than $1 million to the Center for Child Development. In 2010, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean honored MCTI with a proclamation recognizing MCTI's commitment to the Center and commending their service to the Nashville community.

at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt
The Center for Child Development at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt serves children and families who are affected by developmental and learning differences. Clinicians provide a range of medical, developmental and psychological evaluation services in an attempt to provide families with the information and resources they need in order to maximize the potential of children with developmental needs. The public is invited to join recording artists, songwriters, music publishers, record company executives and industry professionals along with tennis players from all over the country. The tournament is open to everyone, beginners to pros, and provides doubles team tennis for players of all levels. (Players under age 18 need Tournament Director approval.)
